La Danse des Etoiles - St Barts villas with a view

The very tiny French island of St. Barts, in the Caribbean, boasts about 350 luxury villa rentals. As some of those beautiful houses are worth dozens of thousands of millions of dollars, they truly offer million-dollar views. As a St Barts local, owner of St Barts villas and as a lover of my unique island, I have chosen for you 6 of St. Barts’ best villa rental views. From Gouverneur to Colombier, from Gustavia to Pointe Milou, discover my personal favorites.

Unlike Anguilla,  its neighbor island and luxury competitor, St. Barts is very hilly. It means that a lot of villas offer splendid views on the sea, not just the ones located on the oceanfront. Some are offer a direct view on the sea, while others offer views on the harbor or on the local neighborhood along the seashore, down the hill.

As a villa owner, I can tell you that having a great view is key to a great stay in your St Barts villa:

  •  Waking up in St Barts, every morning with a changing view on the sea, is just a magical experience. Not one day is the same, and you cannot get bored with such a view.
  •  It gives you bragging rights when you host friends and acquaintances for a party at your villa rental. Just let them praise you on how stunning your view is 😉
  •  If you like sailing boats, rentals with a view are where it’s at. People fight to get the best views on the boats racing around the island during regattas such as the St Barths Bucket and Les Voiles de Saint Barth.

So, here are my favorite luxury vacation rentals in St Barts villas with the best million-dollar views :

1) Blue Swan

Blue Swan is located on the steep slopes of Lurin, one of the most prized hills of Saint Barthélémy. It offers a stunning view:

  • The Caribbean Sea, with tropical blue water, emerging small rocks (“îlets”) et neighboring islands like Saba and St Martin
  • The Gustavia Harbor, the tiny capital city of the island, with its little rooftops, gigantic yachts and impressive sailing boats

2) The View

The name of this St Barts villa says it all: “The View / La Vue”. If you love boats, this is the place to be: from here, you cannot only see the yachts sitting in the Gustavia harbors, but also you can enjoy one of the best views on the bigger, better, more expensive, more modern, award-winnning (etc.) boats anchored along the shores of Public.

During the regattas, it is a spectacular place from which to watch the races. Bonus: Our neighbor island of Nevis is visible clear weather far back if you look South.

3) La Danse des Etoiles

I know La Danse des Etoiles pretty well as it sits in Pointe Milou, a few hundreds feet away from my own villas. You may seen it this St. Barts villa featured in numerous magazines.

Not only is it considered a gem for its interior decoration, but is also offer a double view:

  • Sunset view on the St Jean / Lorient bays, with the local islets and St Martin in the background
  • A view on Mont Jean and the very cute small island of Tortue on the other side of the villa

4) Le Phare

Standing above the entrance of the Gustavia harbor, this villa deserves its French name : Le Phare, i.e. The Lighhouse. Not only is it close from the actual (and only) lighhouse of the island, but also it shines for its great views on the boats anchored at its feet (from Gustavia to Public) and for the stunning sunsets that can enjoy from its deck, its pools and its living room.

If you are looking for a place with a view that is not too far from Gustavia, here it is.

5) Teman

Teman in St Jean – St Barts Villas with a view

As I live part of the year in Bali, I had to put villa Teman in this list. “Teman” means “Friend” in Indonesian and the house has a modern Balinese feel, thanks to the abundant use of stone and wood. One of its designers, Johannes Zingerl, has designed my own villa Belamour here in St Barths and has been a consultant for Bulung Daya, my villa in Bali.

Villa Teman offers a great view on St Jean, the Eden Rock hotel, our famous airport and St Martin in the far back. This is another villa that is celebrated for its breathtaking sunsets.

6) Gouverneur Jewel

This villa, Gouverneur Jewel is quite new to the St Barts scene, but everybody knows about its gilded slip tub and gold-leaf mosaic tiles. But even more impressive is the view on the Gouverneur cove.

If you’ve been to the beach at Gouverneur, you must love its lovely white sand, transparent white / green / blue waters and its very quiet side. You will also have a view on one of St Barths’ most famous villa owned by a very well-known billionaire. Definitively view with bling 😉

Shameless Bonus : My own St. Barths villa with a view, Domingue

I could not decently put my villa Domingue in this list, but I do consider that it would be a shame if I was not mentioning it as well 😉

I am very lucky to have such a great view on the Caribbean Sea, St Jean, Anse des Cayes, the surrounding islets, as well as St Martin and Anguilla in the background. On the right hand side, it is the blue ocean – no island there and it goes so far that you can contemplate the curvature of the horizon.

On the other side of the villa, you can see Mont Jean and the island of Tortue. This view is the reason why I bought the villa, I guess that you can understand why now
